Venture Capital atau banyak disingkat dengan VC merupakan lembaga keuangan yang tugasnya adalah memberikan modal atau dana pada perusahaan-perusahaan kecil dan baru (startup). VC memberikan kucuran dana yang dibutuhkan oleh startup untuk berkembang dan nantinya startup memberikan timbal balik berupa kepemilikan saham di perusahaan startup tersebut. Mengapa Startup Membutuhkan Venture Capital?
Startup pada dasarnya merupakan perusahaan yang sangat baru dan masih membutuhkan banyak hal untuk berkembang, terutama dari bidang finansial. Sebaliknya, Venture Capital merupakan lembaga yang di dalamnya terkumpul puluhan atau ratusan investor yang bisa menyediakan dana dalam jumlah besar. Dana dalam jumlah besar bukan merupakan masalah untuk lembaga keuangan seperti Venture Capital. Dengan jumlah investor yang melimpah, mereka bisa menyediakan dana sebesar apapun dalam waktu singkat.
