Berita BBM di Android dan iOS 27 Juni 2013 Hoax – Beberapa waktu lalu di Twitter melalui akun @bbworldwid sempat heboh mengenai kabar rilisnya BBM versi android dan iOS tanggal 27 juni mendatang. Namun kabar ini dibantah oleh pihak BlackBerry Indonesia.
Saat ditemui di peluncuran resmi BlackBerry Q10 di Bandung Masipoyono Handoyo, Managing Director BlackBerry Indonesia, membantah kabar itu. “BBM di perangkat Android dan iOS tidak benar akan dirilis pada 27 Juni. Karena fitur BBM di Android / perangkat Apple iOS baru bisa diunduh mulai musim panas (bulan Juli – September),” ucapnya.
Keputusan BlackBerry untuk menghadirkan fitur BlackBerry Messenger di perangkat Android dan iOS banyak dianggap sebagai ‘aksi bunuh diri’. Sebab, kehadiran BBM di Android atau iOS akan dianggap mengurangi penjualan BlackBerry.
Namun, BlackBerry melihatnya dari ‘kacamata’ berbeda. Perusahaan asal Kanada tersebut memutuskan untuk menghadirkan fitur unggulannya pada perangkat iOS dan Android sebagai bagian dari strategi BlackBerry, dan bukan sebagai langkah putus asa.
Keputusan untuk menghadirkan BBM untuk Android dan iOS dituturkan oleh Maspiyono sebagai upaya untuk memperluas ekosistem. Mengingat dukungan dan kelebihan BBM seperti BlackBerry Hub dan BB Flow yang menjadikannya berbeda dengan aplikasi messaging lain.
Satu yang dapat dipastikan fitur BBM bisa diunduh secara gratis di Google Play Store dan App Store. Di awal kehadirannya nanti BBM akan kompatibel hanya dengan perangkat smartphone dan belum untuk tablet. (liputan6)
