Manchester City Pecat Mancini 2013 – Klub mantan juara liga inggris Manchester City yang tak meraih satu tropi pun tahun ini resmi mengumumkan pemecatan pelatihnya Roberto Mancini.
Masa depan Mancini di City memang sudah amat santer dispekulasikan dalam beberapa hari belakangan. Kegagalan City meraih gelar musim ini, khususnya mempertahankan titel Liga Primer Inggris, membuat pria Italia ini disebut-sebut akan segera dipecat.
Hal itu rupanya bukan isapan jempol belaka. ‘The Citizens‘ akhirnya memberikan konfirmasi telah memecat Mancini, Selasa (14/5/2013) dinihari WIB.
“Dengan rasa penyesalan, Manchester City FC mengumumkan bahwa Roberto Mancini sudah dibebastugaskan dari posisinya sebagai manajer Manchester City,” tulis City di situs resminya.
“Asisten Manajer Brian Kidd untuk sementara akan mengambil alih tanggung jawab di dua laga sisa musim ini dan tur pramusim ke Amerika Serikat,” lanjut pernyataan tersebut.
Mancini ditunjuk menangani City pada bulan Desember 2009, menggantikan Mark Hughes. Ia sudah mengantar City meraih satu piala Liga Primer (2011–12), satu trofi Piala FA (2010–11), dan satu Community Shield (2012). Tahun 2013 ini Roberto Mancini hanya mampu memberikan tiket liga champions dan jadi finalis FA CUP.
